Pacho peaking at perfect moment for Ecuador

At just 24 years old, Willian Pacho appears to improve with every match. The Ecuadorian defender, who joined Paris Saint-Germain nearly two years ago as a relatively unknown quantity, continues adding new dimensions to his reputation.

In the Champions League semi-final second leg against Bayern Munich, the center-back faced one of his toughest tests yet. PSG traveled to Munich with a one-goal advantage from the first leg. Bayern coach Kompany deployed an attacking lineup featuring Musiala, Olise, Luis Diaz, and Harry Kane, but PSG's defensive structure proved impenetrable. Pacho emerged as one of the champions' key figures as they advanced 1-1 to the final against Arsenal.

Pacho was named Man of the Match for his performance. His primary task was containing Kane, who led the Champions League scoring charts with 13 goals. Apart from Kane's late equalizer, Pacho dominated the duel almost entirely. He possesses all the qualities of an elite defender: impeccable timing, anticipation, instinct for intercepting passes, and the recovery speed to track back when needed.
